Blackjack or 21
Learning how to play blackjack is quick and easy. Maybe thats what contributes to it being one of the most popular casino games. This game pits you against the dealer with the objective of you getting as close to 21 without going over yet still having a higher total than the dealer.

Blackjack Rules:

  • Uses 6 decks of cards
  • Reshuffling occurs after every hand
  • Dealer hits on soft 17
  • Double on any 2 cards
  • Split up to 3 hands
  • Surrender is available on first two cards
  • Split aces one time
  • Can not re-split Aces

Blackjack Card Values

  • Cards 2-10 are counted at face value
  • Jacks, Queens, Kings are valued at 10
  • Aces can be counted as 1 or 11 – Players choice

Blackjack Options

  • Hit – To take another card
  • Stand – No more cards desired
  • Split – If the first two cards are of equal value you can split them into two separate hands by making another bet of equal value to the first.
  • Double – You can “Double Down” on any two cards which means you double your initial bet and get only one more card
  • Blackjack – When your first two cards equal 21
  • Bust – When either you or the dealer cards total more than 21. You bust and you lose your bet automatically, if the dealer busts you win automatically.
  • Push – When your cards total and the dealers cards total the same. Your bet is then returned.
  • Surrender – You can surrender after you receive your first two cards. Surrendering means 50% of your bet goes to the house and 50% is returned.
  • Insurance – This is a chance to protect yourself when the dealer is showing an Ace. If you think the dealer may have blackjack, you can buy insurance for half your initial bet. If the dealer has blackjack the insurance pays 2 to 1. If the dealer does not have blackjack, you lose your insurance bet only and play the hand as usual.
